Battery Temperature Sensor Circuit Range or Performance

The battery temperature sensor reports a value within plausible range yet inconsistent with engine bay or coolant temperature. Modern alternator regulation uses battery temperature to adjust charging voltage, so an offset here causes over- or undercharging.
