B Camshaft Position Actuator Position Sensor C Range/Performance (Bank 1)
Position sensor C reads in range but plausibility check fails — slow response or stuck reading. The camshaft position sensor identifies which cylinder is on the compression stroke — without it the ECM cannot run sequential injection or coil-on-plug ignition correctly.

Possible causes
- Sensor drift high
- Sensor element aged beyond calibration window low
- Sensor mounting loose - signal damping low
Symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Power loss especially in mid-rpm range
- Possible rough idle or stalling
- Increased fuel consumption
Inspection / repair
- Difficulty: medium
- DIY: shop recommended
- Estimated cost: 120–800 €
- Estimated time: 0.7–3 h
- Component: camshaft position actuator
- MIL / check engine light
- emissions-relevant
