Engine Coolant Temperature 2 / Ambient Air Temperature Correlation
ECT 1 and ambient air temperature disagree after long soak — both should match within tolerance. The engine coolant temperature sensor feeds warm-up enrichment, fan control and closed-loop entry — a stuck-cold reading keeps the engine in open loop and rich forever.
